At a certain point in the developmental process, you must start seeing your mind as identical with or at least connected to, the Divine, or God, or whatever you call it.

And you must learn to SEE the essence of things, going beyond the simple and habitual movements of your mind.

In this sense, it is not your eyes that see but your inner eye so to speak because your eyes can only see stuff and stuff moving around. That’s it. Everything that you think and believe that that stuff is doing, you are essentially making up because you do not know its true purpose, its true path. Your mind can attempt to integrate the divisions it sees in the world, but it cannot create a unified whole, it cannot create completion or unity.

Here is the on-going struggle through Time: the up and the down, the in and the out, the good and the bad, the one and the many, the conscious and the unconscious, the Alpha and the Omega. In consciousness, which is the basis and reality of your existence, it’s the same thing as saying that in your real self, in who you really are, there is no division, nothing meaningless, everything is meaningful and connected. In this state, there is joy.

Really, that is the truth.

How do I know that?

Because truth is never expressed in the negative. And that’s why it’s easy for me to say that there’s nothing wrong with you. The truth of who you really are is ALWAYS expressed in the positive. Now, I know that is probably contrary to how you are experiencing your life today but that’s OK. It’s part of the process.

Your mind takes a tiny little part of an experience and calls the whole thing that tiny little part.  For example, you have a relationship in which you experience hurt or sadness. The mind then turns around and says, “Well, that’s what love is. Love hurts.” You have a negative experience in which you are not selected for admission to a school or a program or you’re not selected for a job. Your mind says, this is really hard. And then summarizes the experience with something like, “Life is hard.” It takes a part and calls it the whole. It takes the whole and divides it into parts which it regards as separate mental objects. The whole is just a vague perception to the mind.

It knows only its own analysis of the object. The utmost mission of your Mind is to train your obscure consciousness from the dark prison of separation to enlightenment. So, think of it this way… your mind is a pathway to a higher, grander you. Your mind is not the ultimate objective…thank goodness!

I want to repeat again…consciousness has nothing to do with the brain. Consciousness can use your brain, in the sense that its primary job is help you organize a greater truth and knowledge but it is not capable of producing that truth. Consciousness is not synonymous with your mind. In fact, you are not your mind at all…but you have one. Now, this is consistent straight across the board…as I have said before…you have experiences but you are not your experiences. You have a mind but you are not your mind. And that’s nothing but good news.

So, as you rise above your mind, you can increase your balance and harmony even in stressful situations, maintain a sense of cosmos, of order and rhythm even in the face of chaos. In the greater truth of who you are, the knowledge of who you are and the will that is associated with that knowledge is not divided as it in your mind. In your mind, you have an idea about your life but there is often substantial disagreement much less cooperation at the different levels of mind, body and emotion.

Matter is a result of consciousness. The physical body is consciousness manifest. The play of consciousness results in an infinite multiplicity of itself but all are one. Do you get that? Do you see? Each manifestation and for our purposes, we want to concentrate on the individual…each individual is governed by an inner destiny, vision and will…so, it’s now easy for you to see that your existence cannot be separated from this inner blueprint and the inner blueprint cannot be separated from your existence! The knowledge that you need to live an incredible life is already contained in you.

Time is the necessary ingredient that puts life, including yours, into motion and allows you to begin the evolutionary process by experiencing struggle and pain and failure and confusion and all sorts of mental limitations, in order to experience itself not as an esoteric idea or belief but as a physical truth. Now, if you’re really listening, what you heard me say in a different way is that your salvation is not going to be found in death but in life.

This you, this truth-consciousness that lies hidden inside of you is working things out in your outer life to bring about circumstances, situations and events that help you create the inner experience that it seeks. You, the knowledge that is embedded in you, and all that is known are all the same thing…You!

You are not separate from the knowledge that you need to live an incredible life…you are the knowledge. You are not separate from the God, the consciousness, from whence you came. You are that consciousness. The mind doesn’t know what to do without a divided nature because if everything was whole and complete and fulfilled, there wouldn’t be anything to do! You’d be relaxed and at ease and the mind doesn’t like that…it likes to grind.

Without its JBOPPPs, people think they would lose their minds. In fact, that’s the only way you’re ever going to learn to be happy. Empty your mind, let go of the past…and you’ll start not just seeing but experiencing reality. In reality, you are all you’ve ever needed because you and truth-consciousness, you and true knowledge…you are one and the same. Because of the fundamental and predictable mechanics of the mind and how the mind works, the mind only sees through division and limitation. But, of course, it can be trained to see the truth. But keep in mind that truth-consciousness and will are the same thing…the will that lies in your existence is already there…always seeking not to just know itself but to experience itself. Because of its unified state, try on something else by looking at the condition of love…now remember, it’s simultaneous and unified. So, here you go…you are the lover, you are the process of loving and you are the thing being loved…all at the same time!

What does that mean? It means you’ve got it made, it means that you are unthreatenable, it means that you are and always have been safe, it means that you don’t need anything from anybody, for any reason, to be OK. You can drive yourself crazy but the timeless and the space less and the vast invisible which is indivisible is not bothered by your mischief and stupidity but you might want to be bothered so you can stop hurting and start living. Verifiable, concrete and often repeated experiences are required by the individual to finally convince it that behind all of the pain, behind and underneath all of the failures, there is something else. And that something else is joy, an immeasurable, incredible life that has figured out how to convert those failures and pains, even the unbearable ones, into an experience that transcends the mind and the experiences of the past and templates a new version of itself right smack dab in the middle of the mess.

With a little humility and self-implication, you can see that your mind operates like a broken light switch.

Mirra Alfassa Richard who would become known as the Mother said, “…this consciousness has the obstinacy of the imbecile. How many times during a suffering, for example, when a suffering is there, acute, and one has the impression that it is going to become unbearable, there is the little inner movement (within the cells) of Call — the cells send their S.O.S. — everything stops, the suffering disappears, and often (now more and more) it is replaced by a feeling of blissful well-being; but the very first reaction of this imbecile material consciousness is: “Ah! We shall see how long that is going to last”, and naturally, by this movement it demolishes everything — one must begin all over again.”

The Mother went on to say, “I believe that for the effect to be lasting…not a miraculous effect that comes, dazzles and goes away… it must really be the effect of a transformation. One must be very, very patient — we have to deal with a consciousness very slow, very heavy, very obstinate, which is not able to advance rapidly, which clings to what it has, to what has appeared to it as truth; even if it is quite a tiny truth, it clings to that and does not want to move. Then to cure that, one must have very much patience — much patience. The whole thing is to hold on, to endure, to endure. Basically, the vast majority of men are like prisoners with all the doors and all the windows shut, so they suffocate (which is quite natural), but they have with them the key that opens the doors and the windows, and they don't use it. Certainly, there is a period when they don't know that they have the key, but even long after they do know it, long after they have been told, they hesitate to use it and doubt that it has the power to open the doors and windows, or even that it may be advisable to open them. And even once they feel that ‘After all, it might be a good thing,’ a fear pursues them: ‘What is going to happen once all these doors and these windows open?’ They become afraid – afraid of losing themselves in this light and in this freedom. They want to remain what they call ‘themselves.’ They love their falsehood and their slavery. Something in them loves it and remains clinging to it. They feel that without their limits, they would no longer exist.

That is why the journey is so long, so difficult. For if one would truly consent no longer to be, everything would become so easy, so swift, so luminous, so joyous – though perhaps not in the way men conceive of joy and ease.

At heart, there are very few beings who are not enamored of struggle. There are very few who would consent to having no darkness or who can conceive of light as anything other than the opposite of obscurity: ‘Without shadow, there would be no painting. Without struggle, there would be no victory. Without suffering, there would be no joy.’ That is what they think, and as long as they think like that, they are not yet born to the spirit.'

So, until you are free, endure, persevere and refuse to give up, that above blind fate and all of the barriers that you face that all things will change at its appointed time.

Endure, persevere, knowing that all will appear at the right time and right place.
