If It’s True About the Universe

If you were to believe the concept that the divine lies inside each human being, then it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to suggest that you are a split personality, perhaps a healthy schizophrenic. The divine in human form pretending to be someone else. I mean, really, think about it.

Now, let’s go way back in time. It is suggested that the sacred Upanishads were written in 800 BC but they could be much, much older. And the Katha Upanishad states, “That is he that is awake in those who sleep.” This what I said before: The divine in human form pretending to be someone else.

One is real, one is not. Maybe you’re like me. Sometimes when I look back, I don’t even recognize that person, myself, so it’s easy for me to look back and shake my head. I don’t know who he was but he apparently didn’t know what he was doing. All of the works of psychology and therapy, are attempts to address who you are not, the one who is asleep. The one that isn’t real.

So, if you’re working on something that doesn’t exist, that isn’t real, do you see where that’s going to end up?

All the works of religion are about resolving the one who is real…but apparently one who is so damaged that he needs to worship someone else who isn’t so damaged. As a small child in the Episcopal church, I remember repeating, “We are not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under thy Table,” and saying to myself, “I didn’t do anything wrong. What’s wrong with me?” I came to understand that there were human beings who wanted to be worshiped…but that God needed nothing, including the need to be worshiped…for if anyone needs anything for any reason, to be worshiped, then the individual would be incomplete. Could God be so insecure? I didn’t think so. So, I figured there had to be something else going but I was only a little kid, so, how could I know?

Let’s take a look at a very important understanding of consciousness. Nothing can evolve out of matter that is not already contained in it. Apply your understanding of existence preceding experience: which one is real and which one is not. Now, again, nothing can evolve out of matter that is not already contained in it. Whatever it is that is contained there, in your existence, could not be a judgment, a belief, an opinion, a perception, a prejudice, a projection. It would have to be an absolute that exceeded your experience, your sensory interpretation, it would have to be free of any opposite. In other words, it couldn’t be a physical interpretation because it precedes your experience. It would have to be a metaphysical fact because the instructions were included before you opened the box.

It’s quite radical to not just think about the fact that existence preceded experience but if it’s true, it annihilates the mind, all of the content of the mind, it empties the mind.

And the force, the will, the energy with which it created itself (you) is inherent in existence…in your existence. The problem is that nothing physical really serves as the cause, nothing physical explains where a thought comes from. Consciousness implies some kind of preexistent intelligence, some preexistent purposefulness, some preexistent knowledge.

And at the same time, what you consider difficult to imagine or understand, you have the right to reject or deny it. The fact that you don’t believe it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist: it means you don’t believe it doesn’t exist. But in the inverse, even if you do believe it, that doesn’t mean it exists, it means that you believe that it exists. And that will always be the case! Because you have that option… to believe or not believe. But whatever it is that you believe, you’ll see it, even if it’s not there.

Belief isn’t based on fact. It’s based on experience. Truth is not based on experience and doesn’t depend upon your belief in it to be true.

For example, your perception of yourself isn’t based on fact. It’s based on your experience and resolving this issue becomes about the most essential question in the world if you have any interest at all in becoming happy, peaceful, fulfilled. And unless you are willing to state that the basis of information that you’re using to live your life, to justify your existence, existed before you came into physical being, then it’s just stuff you’re making up. Our work at TruthSpring implies that consciousness existed before your brain did.

So, if you’re willing to hold that thought for just a second…then why would consciousness…perfect, infinite, needing nothing, desiring nothing at all, create in itself these worlds of form? Notice what I said: I said create “in” itself. It’s not just creating and birthing out galaxies, planets, oceans, human beings, animals and plants of every possible mix and make-up you can imagine, it’s doing it inside of itself.

Let’s say that you’re a Christian and you believe that God created you. Did God create you inside herself or did God create you outside herself? If she created you outside herself, then you’re screwed. You’re playing the game of survival of the fittest, prey and predator and there’s no way to win except with great cost to yourself. If you believe that you were created inside of God, then you’ve got it made. Free wi-fi, your wi-fi never disconnects and the signal is always reliable and not only that but the connection always knows the need of each thing, the purpose of each thing, the destiny of each thing, always able to order womb service.

I’m not trying to be cute but to get you to see the obvious discrepancies of your own thinking. I’m just a regular guy who had some extraordinary experiences that I couldn’t account for and the only way they could be explained was by realizing there was another world other than just physical world in the survival of the fittest was taking place. In the beginning of my work 30 years ago, I saw the repetitive patterns associated with behavior as a fixed-tape-loop, I saw behavior as the problem. As the years went by, I saw it not as a fixed-tape-loop but as a closed-tape-loop, that all it was capable of producing was itself and that the only way it could be changed was if it was replaced by something new.

I realized it couldn’t be reconciled…that once something was recorded in the mind, it was there forever. So, every time something similar to that recording was observed by the mind, the same specific neural pathways would access the old memories and the mind could only see the current situation through the past. And then, and it wasn’t hard, it was easy to see that the mind can only see the past.

Eventually, I saw that only transformation could cause the fixed-tape-loop to change.

So, fight if you want to, you are not going to win. There has to be something else. If satisfaction was going to come, it would only be able to be experienced by the realization of something else…not that was missing…because if it didn’t exist in the human being in the first place, then we’ve got a major problem with the whole existence thing suggesting that existence has no purpose and no meaning. But if it was already contained in the human being, then it was something being hidden, withheld, veiled and that the only way it could be accessed was not going to be through the mind but by the surpassing of the mind, the limits of experience and the past, by overcoming the mind.

The mind would therefore be a finite form of an infinite force but the infinite force would have to be contained in the system from the beginning. A mutable form of an immutable will. So, if it’s not, if the infinite is not contained within you, then we don’t need to be having this conversation. Dust to dust. Ashes to ashes. No rhyme. No reason. Yet birds migrate following an invisible force. The seasons come and go according to forces the eyes cannot see.

But if it is true about the universe then it’s true about you. And if it’s true about you, then it’s true about everyone, including the ones that have hurt you. So, I am going to outright say this. Your happiness is not about your mind…and yet, understanding the fundamental workings of your mind is vital…for these fundamental principles can be mastered. It’s not about your self-awareness…because self-awareness focuses on the effects of your mind known as your behavior…and yet understanding the effects of your mind can allow you to control those effects. And it’s not about mindfulness because mindfulness is just another term for self-awareness and you’re still going to be stuck in the mind. The quality of your life, the experience of your being here is mathematically proportional to your level of consciousness…which is not about your mind.

A computer is a great tool but until software is loaded into it, it just sits there. The software you’re currently working with is software that you came up with from your experiences spanning a small number of years. Consciousness is the software that has run the universe since the beginning of time. And it will run the universe for eternity. And you have to confront this notion with a simple question…which is… what is its purpose? Because whatever the answer is, that answer is also the answer to your birth and your reason for being here. So, here we go…what is its purpose?

To experience itself in physical form, to experience the joy of not just knowing what it is, but experiencing itself for what it is.

The purpose is the dance, the joy, the bliss.

Existence-Consciousness-Bliss. And, of course, this creates a big problem because you are confronted daily with the verification of human misery and suffering in your backyard…the horrible things that people do to one another…the fact that evil exists. How do you account existence of such grief found everywhere all over the world? It certainly appears that this is a world of suffering versus a world of delight. Even a little pain affects you intensely and seems at times to outweigh you experiences of delight and pleasure because you have lost touch with the simple joys of existence.  You can be a billionaire and be miserable. You can be a pauper and live joyfully.

There something in you that knows that pain isn’t normal, that life isn’t supposed to be this way, of working to live instead of living to work…that it’s so abnormal that’s contrary to your existence, setback after setback to who you consider yourself to be and the life you’re trying to live. It’s a real problem coming to terms with this and it’s not made any easier when you are taught or you grow up believing that life is a trial, that God who punishes you for your sins or for disobeying, for not being the person God wants you to be.

If you believe that life is a trial and that the only way is to be saved, then what are you being saved from and most importantly, who created the stuff from which you’re supposed to be saved? Who created evil? Karma doesn’t make any sense if you’re operating under the laws of a personal God who punishes you for getting off track. But Karma makes perfect sense if you realize that in the process of your birth and becoming, you use ignorance and unconsciousness as a tool to evolve and become and that your ignorance would then be subjected to natural law…of cause and effect…of understanding that every single thought you have is creating at some level, that every action you take has immediate consequences…but not God’s, but your own. Face it, you don’t live in an ethical world.

Blue Sky Science Fiction Book Cover(1).png

Spirituality, the infinite, God, truth consciousness, the vertical has no needs of ethics…nothing is wrong…everything is perfect. But the finite, the horizontal, everyday life, the physical, life does need ethics. To connect what I’m saying, and to consider that your existence has been compromised by your experiences and your mind, you have to begin with self-responsibility…to see no other than yourself but the life you’re living…God didn’t do this to you…you did this to you…but you did it for good reasons.

So, blame yourself, condemn yourself…for this is the path you have chosen and if you do not believe this and that God did this to you, then you are free to live that illusion out as long as you choose…but it won’t change a thing. I know this is hard to believe…but God has no preferences...but you might want to.

It is the urge, the drive, the yearning that is common to all men…to be fulfilled, happy, and free of fear. Whatever gets in the way of that you will view as bad, wrong, evil…instead of seeing it for what it is…a stair step, a rung in the ladder…it’s what you have chosen, consciously or unconsciously, as a mechanism for growth…whatever helps and empowers is his good.

In the climb from the meaningless to the fulfilling, you will encounter the pain and suffering that chisels away at those aspects of your being, of your personality, that need to be dropped, evolved, that need to be transformed. And in doing so, those barriers, those “sufferings” will dissolve.

You will begin to actively and consciously participate in the unfolding knowing that nothing is meaningless. The pain is temporary…as is the joy…until you rise above your limited mind and train yourself to be free of any dependencies on external things or people or even love. For you are love, you are free and always have been.

You are consciousness, you are a microscopic version of the macroscopic universe, in physical form, pretending that you don’t know this…playing at being miserable, playing at being unfulfilled, playing at being unconscious and you can change the game anytime you desire.

Remember, if it’s true about the universe, if it’s true about God, then it’s true about you.
