Aspiration

Aspiration is essential to the human being. It’s one of the most fulfilling human experiences, to overcome a barrier, particularly an internal, mental or psychological barrier. Aspiration can be a human condition without ever manifesting…never quit, never quit.

Human consciousness is always seeking but human consciousness is governed by the lower mind, seeking the fulfillment of desires and physical needs but never really getting past the mind itself.

Humanity has yet to climb beyond Mind to a higher principle, to a higher way of being. Here at TruthSpring, we say, there is truth to learn and work to do and we have tagged the individual as the primary vessel by which the world will change. The work that accompanies this effort, the yoga that becomes a path of life for you, accelerates your evolution and that process.

The disorders of your life and mind, the dramas that wear away the quality of your life begin to diminish by understanding the principles of a more perfect order than the one you’ve got. Everyone at some point is driven by a force inside that, although unknown, seeks to realize itself, to live an awakened existence of its own energies, to know empowerment, abundance, fulfillment. But the aspiration I want to speak about is a spiritual path. This is not a path of morality or belief but a path of increasing your understanding of the invisible footsteps of consciousness.

The work of TruthSpring is about building bridges to a higher order, a path to the divine and out of the insanity of your lower mind.

A spiritual path is the conscious act of balancing your daily life, your horizontal life, through the understanding of the vertical, of the divine. A spiritual path doesn’t ignore your needs for that’s a hugely important part of being here! You must try to exceed yourself and your habitual mind. You must aspire to realize your true self through going within and having the courage to live by those truths and to turn around and serve as an instrument of that truth, not for others but for yourself, in order to experience yourself as someone who rises above his or her limitations. And that spiritual effort is going to have an effect on your physical being and world.

As all paths have taught, there is a need to master your needs, to begin to rise above the petty desires on mind, body and emotions. It can be very helpful to deliberately fast, or deliberately deprive yourself of a constant addiction, but it’s not required.

But I want to state again that it is a balancing of the horizontal and vertical. It’s not appropriate to be meditating at the experience of losing your car because you didn’t make your car payments.  It is the vertical that is running the horizontal. The metaphysical is running the physical. The invisible is running the visible. So, if you understand this, everything you see, including your car, your home, your health, your money, comes from somewhere else. The physical is an effect. The invisible is the cause. The material is a by-product of the spiritual.

Your daily life is a by-product of the forces and energies of your level of consciousness. Now, you may think it’s the outer world but it’s not. Fight all you want to against what’s happening outside of you (physical, visible, tangible) but nothing’s going to change until you challenge what’s going on inside of you (the spiritual, invisible, intangible.) Everything physical, including the universe itself, is an out-put of the metaphysical. And that is the spiritual path.

So, when I said that you have to exceed yourself, consider associating exceeding with aspiring. Aspiration if the gasoline of exceeding. To build an unquenchable fire inside yourself, an unthreatenable knowing inside of yourself that your efforts, small and large, will move you forward until you see beyond the limits of your ignorant mind. To build a conviction inside of yourself, that you not just mean what you say, but that your behavior exhibits that what you say is real.

You are absolutely capable of manifesting spiritual truth, you are absolutely capable of  greater heights and the reason that aspiration is so important is because you are so unhappy and unfulfilled and stuck in the mud of everyday life.

Aspiration is the ladder, yes, to an unknown, but at least it’s out of the mud. You are learning to widen your consciousness, to embrace the opposition, the long traffic home, the unexpected bills, the upsets as the hidden doorways to a greater joy and knowing and fulfillment. And at the same time, you make mistakes, are met with barriers of your own making, experience your own weaknesses. Grief and pain and suffering are all around you. One day you’re up and one day you’re down. Since all is one Reality, the inferior negation is none other than the one reality.

You have to let go of thinking that further accumulation of the physical is going to secure the joy that you seek but don’t stop accumulating….just do it for the right reasons. Use your mind and consider this…if everything is God, if you are created in the image of God, if all physical comes from the metaphysical, then that means that suffering and limitation and failure are also of God and that knowing of their positive intent but only negative in the experiencing of them, you can still know that each negative has embedded in it a purpose and will that is positive or it could not and would not have been created because everything is of God, in spite of the fact that negativity is the creation of a mind that does not understand this.

It’s true that spiritual awakening works! It lifts you up! But so does self-destruction because there’s nowhere else to go but up! The freedom and release and healing can come from the realization of the positive in the negative. You move from the negative-ground-of-being to the redemptive ground of being in moments.

You use negativity as a tool for growth. If you understood this, you would forgive yourself for your past deeds immediately! You would realize that self-forgiveness precludes the need to be forgiven by others. If you understood this, you would stop learning through pain and suffering…you would choose to learn through love and growth and expansion.

It is so hard for the limited mind to consider that life doesn’t have to be so hard, a thought so radically different that the mind sees it as inviting but not real.

I’m not saying there won’t be difficulties but I am saying that you will change your mind and therefore, the outcome, of your life and you will fall in love with the daily grind, the exhausting, endless demands of everyday life.

Aspiration, again, is the ladder as you seek the mastery of your life, the perfection of your beautiful self, increasing your knowledge of how your beautiful self works from the inside out. The ascending effort of aspiration is met, has to be met, with the descending power of God, of Truth, of reality, of consciousness, whatever you want to call it…as the old you is not reconciled but canceled out.

It is not in leaving the planet to another worldly dimension like heaven or nirvana but the return to everyday life as the enlightened, awakened individual, that the world will change…without its even knowing it. Aspiration is the ladder and the challenges are the rungs of the ladder. Aspiration can be a thought, a mantra, it can just be a feeling. Words are not necessary.

But distinguish between the desires of the little mind versus the yearnings of the soul and know, in spite of your past, in spite of your mistakes, that the next pitch may be the moment you have been waiting for. There is a description in the I-Ching that describes Chaos as the place where brilliant dreams are born. It goes further by saying, “Before the beginning of great brilliance, there must be chaos. Before a brilliant person begins something great, they must look foolish to the crowd.”

So, maybe, you’re already halfway there!

Aspire. require no proof or evidence. and call out to the divine knowing that your effort will be rewarded at its just and appointed time.
